One of California's oldest wineries, Far Niente was founded in 1885 by world traveler and entrepreneur, John Benson. The winery flourished until Prohibition, at which time it was abandoned and fell into complete disrepair. The stately stone shell of a winery was purchased in 1979 by Gil Nickel, as part of his quest to create a world class wine estate in the Napa Valley. During restoration, the original name, Far Niente, romantically translated to without a care, was found carved in stone on the front of the building, where it remains to this day.

Nickel & Nickel
Nickel & Nickel is devoted exclusively to producing 100% varietal, single-vineyard wines that best express the distinctive personality of each vineyard. Established in 1997 by the partners of Far Niente, the winery is based in Oakville, California, on the 42-acre John C. Sullenger vineyard property. Nickel & Nickel produces single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, but also makes single-vineyard Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel.

Multi-course dinner and wine pairing at 6:30 pm. The wine will be paired with food creations from 111's Executive Chef Doug Gavaletz.

Cancellation Policy

Should you require to cancel your reservation for a wine dinner, we will credit you toward another wine dinner or provide a Worcester Restaurant Group gift card of equal value. Please provide as much notice as possible (one week's notice recommended). Our wine dinners are limited to 36 seats, and demand is quite high.
